Four Movies Inspired by the Game Roulette

Roulette has been depicted cinematically in the movies, a game that has developed around the 17th century. The movies on Roulette are generally shown in a classy casino, amidst ruthless dealers, wine, money, and roulette wheel.  

CASABLANCA

It’s an old black and white movie which was the first to show the game of Roulette on the screen. The game has always been intriguing, and hence the director of the movie used it conveniently as a story plan. The story involves Rick a Casino owner who is known for his sarcasm, and the freshly married couples who want to come out of the misery during the Second World War. However, at the Roulette wheel, they turn out lucky, and win a decent amount of money and go onto lead a happy life ever after. 

INDECENT PROPOSAL 

Gambling is a psychological addiction, which makes the person bet huge amounts, despite the heavy losses he is incurring. This phenomenon has been vividly shown in the movie Indecent Proposal. The protagonists in the movie are the handsome couple Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson, who is the novice to Roulette. However, their gluttony, makes them place costly bets at a casino. But, due to their wicked luck, they lose heavily. But, a tycoon perceives their adversities at Roulette and offers them money in exchange for the protagonist’s wife. 

CROUPIER

Clive Owen a Golden globe winner is the protagonist of the movies. He is known for giving a stellar performance in Closer, The Bourne Identity. The movie is set against the backdrop of the most enthralling Roulette which is known as Wheel of fortunes. The character in the movie is a novelist. However, he is unable to think of a story plot for his book. He decides to spend his time in the casino just for a living. However, the roulette game starts having an impact on him and changes him as a person like never before.

SPLIT CALFORNIA

It’s a comedy-drama that has the protagonist accidentally meet on a stranger. They both agree to make big fortunes with the Roulette. The pair make excellent money with their unstoppable winning streak. However, things turn different at the end and are full of events and actions which makes the movie a good watch. The lead actors in the movie are George Segal, Elliot Gould who gives a stellar performance and enthrall the audience.

The gambling world has a dichotomy and glamour and misfortune at the same time. It is essential to be self-disciplined and be wise, and play the wheel of the game.
